FTD/NetMonitor..How 2 install & Use It 2 Increase Speed

Felt that this is really helpful application
And it needs a bit of xplanation to b able to install and use it.
Also...saw many members requesting......So this thrd....

HOW TO INSTALL FTD
-Download and Install LCG Xplore
-Download and Install HelloCarbide[uploaded below]
-Download ftd.zip
-Unzip ftd.zip

-Now open LCG Xplore
-press '0' and make sure the first 4 options are selected
-goto phone memory and try accessing private folder...u cant
-Now goto phone main menu[without exiting xplore] and open HelloCarbide
-press options ->Menu1 -> Yes.......it exits automatically
-now,return to xplore...u can access private and sys folders now

Going back to the files of ftd.zip
-The files are arranged in folders
-Move files in
1)Cprivate101F457f to C/private/101F457f/
2)CPrivate10003a3fimportApps to C/Private/10003a3f/import/Apps/
3)CResourceApps to C/Resource/Apps/
4)CResourcePlugins to C/Resource/Plugins/
5)CSysBin to C/Sys/Bin/
6)Csystemappsdynbase to C/system/apps/dynbase/

Exit xplore.
If u have done all steps correctly...u can c the fieldtest icon in applications
Restart the phone and now opn fieldtest.

HOW TO USE IT TO GET EDGE CONNECTION/FASTER TOWERS

NOTE:I stress its not used to get the tower with better signals...as this is done by the phone itself.....
What v r doing here is......if u have a tower which is farther from u but has an edge connection[while ur nearest tower doesnt have edge],then u can use this to get connected to dat specified tower.
This also helps if the tower nearest to u is very crowded and u get less speed....So,u can use this to get connected to a farther tower which has less traffic and so will probably give u better speeds.

Open the app...
navigate through the menus using up and down arrows

EDGE OR GPRS?????
Look up in menu 6.12
Here check the field "EGPRS support" if you get "0" here then u r using GPRS...... if u get "1" here then u r getting EDGE

GETTING TOWER INFOS
GOTO menu 1.03
this menu shows u the signals of neighboring towers ur phone recieves.....
write down in a piece of paper the CH number[the first 3 digits of each line] for
1.Serving cell info
2.Neighbour info
3.Neighbour info and so on till menu 1.05

TESTING EACH TOWER
V have collected the CH nos. of all the towers in ur coverage....Let us test each of them to find which has edge connection
Now....go to menu 1.12..........
press "options"
select "excecute"
under "input value" enter the CH num of first towert...... press ok
now in the BTS test instead of "OFF" u should now see the CH num u entered...... u have successfully selected that tower.........

Now.....go to menu 6.12..........
Here check the field "EGPRS support" if you get "0" here then u r using GPRS...... if u get "1" here then u r getting EDGE
U may also chk the download speed ur getting with this tower

REPEAT THIS FOR EACH TOWER...and decide which is the best for u...

NOTEU might have noticed that the tower which gives the highest download speed MAY NOT give u the best coverage[range].....this is because u have selected a neighbouring tower than the one near u......thats normal.

Dats it.....exit the app and enjoy......
To revert back to normal,just restart the phone.

One more thing.....this app has a lot of other features....best thing to do is not to play with them.

HERE IS THE FILE(field test {unsigned}) IN SIS FORMAT,
I HOPE IT MAY HELP EVERYBODY..
note:if u have successfully copied the above given file correctly then u don't need to install this one or it will give u update error while installing....
But u are still confused where to paste and haven't pasted the files then install the sis version
