| SHiVaMRulZ Frendz Elites [ PM: SHiVaMRulZ] Collection | what is a symbian phone? guys like in pc we have windows and linux and dos as operating systems Symbian is a name of an operating system of nokia phones developed by sun microsystems. Symbian series is the most common and widely known and used series of all smartphone operating systems(a smart phone is a phone which has compatibility for more applications then already present in your phone). Others series are Windows mobile(pocket pc) simple java supported phones J2ME(Mostly sony ericsson phones) and symbian UIQ3(Sony ericsson's touch screen symbian phones like P910i, P990i, M600i etc) As already told this tutorial is only dedicated to symbian series so only features about it will be discussed only. Symbian series is divided into mainly about 5 categories. First is symbian 60v1 which included phones like Ngage Qd,classic etc.. This was the most sluggish series of symbian phones which included phones with very less compatibility and output. Then came a slight better series s60v2 which contained phones like 6600,7610,3230,6670,6680,6630,6681,N70,N72,N90 . This series was many times more better than previous series in compatibility, hardware and performance. Phones like n70 and n72 are also popular today. The next series was totally different platform then previous two and known as s60v3 or os9 series. Its basic phones were N91, n73, N80, N73 etc. Those phones were better then previous all as those contained many new features like carl zeus optics lens, power ful flashes and features like wiFI AND GPS. This series laid the foundation of the two most latest and widely used series os 9.2,3 and Os 9.5 Os 9.2 and 9.3 contains phones like N81,82,85,95,96,79 and all such power ful devices which had hardware and software support of N73 and N91 in addition to super fast speed and better and vast functions. Os9.5 or s60v5 is a series containing touch screen phones having features of Os9.2 and 3 till date only two os9.5 phone are available i.e N97 and 5800 Post Edited By : SHiVaMRulZ |

| SHiVaMRulZ Frendz Elites [ PM: SHiVaMRulZ] Collection | In this post i ll explain need of each application mentioned in previous post but first a point to be noted is that it is not at all important in having the most latest version of a particular app always. Older versions of the same app might be better. For example i ve seen many members requesting for latest version of smart movie and xplore in sticky thread. All having a thinking the latest version are better. Well that is true but not always as not only new features are added and bugs are edited, many processes to check unauthorised usage are also added like various authentication patches which connect to server and after some time says that the app is not legaly used and thus the whole program gets useless and also stops you installing the previous but full version like lcg xplore 1.30 after connecting to server describes your app as expired and all previous versions also dont work. To remove that error either you ve to format or you ve to install 1.05 and then install 1.22 the best version. Moral of the story is 1.22 is not the latest version although but the best as it can be used freely by the key inputed to register and has to problem of authentication. So starting with importance of above mentioned applications do not go for latest software always as in some cases intermediate versions have almost equal important features and on other hand can be used as full versions. [s1]1.Power mp3[/s1] Power mp3 or winamp 2.41 is best music player for all s60v2 phones having stereo sound output. Reason is power mp3 has a preset soft rock which gives best music output for both headphones and speakers. Also one manually created preset known as super bass nokia gives music experience as of walk man series of sony (although its voice is slow and it is NOT SUITABLE FOR OLD HEADPHONES). I am giving you its link in this tutorials last post. Power mp3 is also better as it takes very less time in start up. Only drawbacks it has are if load on processor is low sound output hangs sometimes and music playback stops when some warning tone or vibration rings. |

| SHiVaMRulZ Frendz Elites [ PM: SHiVaMRulZ] Collection | concept of browsers will be discussed in this post. There are two kinds of browsers. One is proxy gate way based like opera mini, ucweb,Tshark, Netfront etc... Others are non proxy gateway dependent like opera sis(8.65) and default web browser. What i mean to say is that all proxy based web browsers depend on some dedicated server for data transfer and modification like in opera mini, UCWEB you can adjust Image quality to suit your own preferences. Also these browsers do not show animated images to their original quality and they do not show redirection pages as they redirect you directly. These browsers are very useful for users who have low quality internet speed or pay per kB. While for others we have opera sis for full web experience. [s1]2.Opera sis version[/s1] Opera sis version is a non gateway based browser and is best of experiencing web to its originality like in pc we have mozilla. It is best for browsing moderately and low sized web river probably about 300kb sites work wonders in opera with iGPRS(iGPRS is a GPRS WHICH HAS NO PROXY PORT NUMBER AND I.P ADDRESS LIKE AIRTEL'S MOBILE OFFICE) Bigger sized web sites do open in opera but browsing them eventually sucks. For that opera mini is best. Why so it will be discussed in next post. Coming back to opera sis it is only most stable browser available in all nokia phones that is best for uploading purposes. Gateway browsers suck in uploading and default one hangs and gets closed down on its own. If you using proxy gprs like NOP,LIVE,IDEA FRESH,VODAFONE GPRS opera sis aint good for you as it shows various errors in surfing. you might ve noticed that when you open your profile of Frendz4m and you are using opera you see something like Mozilla /4.0(compatible MSIE 6.0 Symbian Os s60/ 30.0.19: 9712) opera 8.65(en) Well this means the browser you are using has features of mozilla 4.0 , microsoft internet explorer 6.0 and belongs to s60 v3. You get so many features in one browser what you want more :-) |

Not only it is easiest to use, it is very user friendly, simple and best features, gives best content folding and image adjustment according to your needs. Other browsers like UCWEB are not so good in color compatibility and image adjustment. For proxy user gprs if opera mini 4.2 works for you it is best as opera mini's server does not gives error as given by opera sis many times. Although 4.2 does not works on NOP Previous versions like 3. Are very much functionable and work on sites like forum and others. Opera mini has many features which are useful for symbian users like its very easy to get download links for smart get and if you are searching for something on the internet opera mini is the best software to do all the job. Opera sis sucks there as it starts downloading a page's original images as it opens a page to its full extent which aint needed as your target is reachog the stuff as early as possible. Links to its versions i ll provide in last post. Only drawback opera mini has that it does takes some time to open and does not show animated images and fails in rapid share downloading and online conversions. For them opera sis is best. From broken video i mean if support you downloaded some part of a video and you want to play it. Smart movie will show it as corrupt file untill its fully downloaded but core player will play it. Although scrolling on broken or incomplete downloaded files is not possible. Core player has only 1 disadvantage i.e it cannot adjust things like display brightness and audio pre roll as smart movie player can. |

| SHiVaMRulZ Frendz Elites [ PM: SHiVaMRulZ] Collection | [s1]7.Symtorrent[/s1] Many of you know what is a torrent. For those who dont i ll explain it. Well some files are subjected to rules like they cannot be hosted directly on some server like movie releases, games, albums and others cause of cyber protocols. So a new system of point to point file sharing was introduced. This system does not hosts files on servers but it provides a server where file is virtually uploaded byte by byte by seeders and downloaded by leechers. Like something called sharing hence p2p sharing was invented. In pc we have softwares like Bit torrent and Utorrent whch download files via this virtual hosting kind of a system. A torrent file is in kBs and it has information of where the file is hosted virtually or known as trackers. So when you start downloading via torrents your software searches that place for seeders and connect with them and hence downloading starts. The speed of download depends on the numbers of seeders. It is interesting to note that as soon as some part of file is downloaded you dont remain a leecher and you become a seeder also as the portion you have starts getting uploaded as you must have observed. You also might have observed that torrent downloading runs on the method of variable saving. It means as soon as you start downloading a 700mB Movie, 700 mb of your disc space is occupied by a virtual file, this virtual file is a foundation of original file. Like purpose a torrent file has 100 parts. As soon as you start torrent space for 100 parts would be occupied on your hard disc and data downloaded corrossponding to the respective part(suppose part 35 is available and is downloaded) will replace the virtual data on its part(the virtual 35 part made on starting file would be replace be real 35 part which was downloaded). When full download completes you become a seeder. To get most useful output select uploading speed limit to 2kBps as otherwise your bandwidth would be spent in uploading for others. Thats how torrent downloading happens. Symtorrent is a torrent downloader for symbian phones. It has all features except setting upload speed limit. To download via symtorrent firstly get the torrent and add it to list via add new file in symtorrent menu. In starting torrent the software shows a process as checking hash. This checking hash is an analysis of whole file in which software discovers which which part is downloaded and which is to be downloaded. To download big files via symtorrent like 700Mb movies you need space more then 700Mb like about 750mb free. Start downloading. As soon as it starts downloading space is occupied the process begins. Set a setting of symtorrent that is startup hash check to enable. This means that everytime symtorrent starts. It will analyse the file. This is needed because symtorrent has a problem that after sometime of downloading the phone hangs. When you restart it and open symtorrent the full downloaded portion rolls some part back like if before hanging if 18% was completed. After restarting only about 12% downloaded will be shown. Checking hash recovers some of wasted file downloads next plot well. This means to download 100% of a big file you would have to do about 150% downloading but its atleast better than downloading via connecting to pc. You can also do like first download about 50% file on phone and then shift the file folder to pc. When you start torrent of that file in Utorrent select download location of that file directory to the one you parted. You ll see that wild Utorrent checks hash it will analyse all the data downloaded by your phone and you can continue downloading via your pc. |

Although it sucks in uploading, content folding,fast surfing and slow animations. The only reasons it is included in this list is that it gives maximum downloading speed on downloads. Its gateway is some chinese server which has unique ip addresses. i.e even if traffic on network is very high ucweb always manager a seat althoug it needs many refreshes and time. Like take example of forum itself. When server is slow even super fast broad bands give up. Only ucweb manages to go online. |

Handy zip can open password encoded zip files by entering it and can even create password encrypted files. Also extracting speed is super super fast as compared to xplore.
